It´s far ... But looks awesome!

There's no shortage of activities when it comes to Auckland. From sailing in the harbour to bungy jumping off the Auckland Harbour Bridge, horse-riding along a white sand beach or playing a round of golf on a scenic peninsula. Auckland has it all !!! Learn Auckland's culture and heritage through experiences, landmarks, tours and arts.
Auckland’s lure to travellers is reflected in the names it was given by early Maori: it is known in Maori as Tamaki Makau Rau, which can be translated as the maiden sought by one hundred lovers. The Ngati Whatua iwi or tribe, widely recognised as the dominant tribe of Auckland, made it its home sometime in the mid 17th century and also referred to it as Te Herenga Waka, the place where many canoes are tethered.

Auckland’s stylish heart is the home of many of New Zealand’s top fashion designers. The block around High Street, the Chancery and Vulcan Lane hosts the boutiques of Karen Walker, Workshop, Zambesi and World, plus dozens of other designers.

Auckland caters to all kinds of visitors when it comes to tours of the region's highlights. Choose from five-star coach tours, fun backpacker or budget bus tours, ferries and water taxis, personal guides or luxury limousine rides. Special interests such as walking and wine are well catered for.

Tourism Auckland can offer you sizzling hot deals for travel, activities and accommodation.

There are spectacular views from many of Auckland’s natural and man-made landmarks.

The region is dotted by 48 volcanic cones, with easy access to the summits of Maungawhau (Mt Eden), Maungakiekie (One Tree Hill), and Rangitoto Island in the Hauraki Gulf. In the heart of the central business district, you can't miss the imposing Sky Tower, which at 328 metres is the tallest tower in the Southern Hemisphere. You can also climb to the apex of the Auckland Harbour Bridge, and the more adventurous can bungy jump from it.

The region is surrounded by rainforested hills, such as the Waitakere and Hunua Ranges. They offer dozens of bush walks for all abilities. The Waitakere Ranges are also the gateway to the wild west coast, where surf pounds black-sand beaches, all just a 40 minute drive from downtown.

Wonderful place!
